On Sunday, July 29 the LA/Guangzhou Sister City Association and the USC IGM Art Gallery organized a screening of  DALI: Love at First Sight at the USC IGM Art Gallery in the context of the exhibition, LAYERING: Barbara Strasen/Luisa Mesa.  The Dali region was praised by Marco Polo as "the magic land beyond the clouds, an idyllic hideaway where life approaches perfection." Located in China's southwestern Yunnan province, its blend of the modern with over five millennia of history and culture demonstrates the layering and patterning of social order and community memory. In 2011, Monarex Hollywood Corporation, in association with Dali Travel Group and the Governments of Yunnan Province and Dali Prefecture, celebrated the release of the eighth documentary film in the Mysterious China Series Dali: Love at First Sight.       See Trailer>>>

The screening of the film was organized to promote citizen diplomacy as well as inform, engage and empower exchange between China and the Western World.  Monarex President and CEO, Chris Nebe, director of the film, conducted the discussion that followed the screening.
