Los Angeles, Ca – June 12, 2012 –The  exhibition,  LAYERING: Barbara Strasen, Luisa Mesa,  opens to the public with a reception on Saturday, July 7, 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. at the USC IGM Art Gallery,  2250 Alcazar Street, 2nd Floor, and continues through October 30, 2012.

The IGM Art Gallery has chosen the rich complexities of molecular biological patterning, social patterning and the role of individual and collective memory as subjects of a four month study and focus for events considering art, patient-centered healthcare and community capacity building in their broadest senses.  The exhibit and associated events probe how knowledge of structural laws of nature, history and the scientific process can aid us in social decision making and creating sustainable systems for local to global prevention and healing of physical and social dis-ease.
