The USC Institute for Genetic Medicine Art Gallery’s mission is to serve as an incubator of social capital.  We carry out this mission through our art exhibitions and forums that gather public, private, nonprofit, faith-based, academic and media leaders in open minded discussions.  Our work focuses on 4 themes: Global Health, Environment, Development and Peace & Security.  We conduct a forum on each theme annually and support our partners in their work in support of these themes wherever possible.

The IGM AG is proud to join the ENCOUNTERLA network of networks and WorkSource LA in supporting this ACLAD network of networks, organized by Adrienne Bambou DIAGNE, originally from Senegal West Africa. The two day conference gathered leaders to focus on seeking solutions for challenges concerning business, development, education, faith and culture, emergency preparedness and health within Africa as well as all the African diasporic groups globally.  On Friday, March 4 at the Cerritos Library Skyline Room, Senator Tony Mendoza (D-Artesia) honored eight distinguished women from the 32nd Senate District as his 2016 Woman of the Year award recipients. The women were recognized for their work in the following fields: business, community service, education, government, health, and non-profit. Congresswoman Janice Hahn (CA-44) delivered an inspirational keynote address. Each of these singular themes interrelates with the others. Only an intelligent, innovative integrative holistic approach is capable of finding solutions to rapid change in these geopolitical challenges.

The USC IGM Art Gallery Advisory Council encourages all our colleagues throughout Los Angeles County to support this annual ACLAD Summit through sharing and leveraging existing resources.

This ACLAD Summit is one of a series of events in partnership with the USC IGM Art Gallery, ENCOUNTERLA: A network of networks, and Partnerships for Peace, also a network of organizations.  As the leaders in these organizations collaborate in organizing cross county conferences and forums, our ability to develop bridges of communication across the vertical and horizontal warp and weft of the social tapestry will enable us to work in inclusive, noncompetitive, transparent and accountable due process.  Thus the final photo in our slide show demonstrates IGM AG volunteer administrator, Sylvie Lee, meeting with Marisa Perdomo, volunteer organizer of the April 16 USC Institute for Integrative Health (IIH) conference led by Dr. Armaity Austin and her steering committee from the USC IIH.
