Black Bottom Southern Cafe Soft Opening for Board Members and Investors

Board Members, Advisers and Friends of Okra Restaurant Group dropped in at the Black Bottom Southern Cafe on Saturday, June 18 to see how the space has been developed.  They inspected all the new culinary art equipment, while also learning the process and compliance issues the team, led by Master Chef, Richard Petty, has gone through, step by step to get fully permitted to open this June.     Click on top photo to Open slide show by USC IGM Art Gallery Public Relations committee

BLACK BOTTOM SOUTHERN CAFE is a new healthy Soul Food restaurant serving down-home style recipes made with locally sourced produce and meats from farms that we love, all freshly prepared in a warm and inviting atmosphere. Takeout, delivery and catering options are available.

BLACK BOTTOM SOUTHERN CAFE is conveniently located at 4806 N. Vineland Avenue at the 3-way intersection of Lankershim Boulevard, N. Vineland Avenue and Camarillo Street/Riverside Drive at the Gateway to the NoHo Arts District.

In serving its mission to incubate social capital, the IGM Art Gallery informs, engages and empowers public, private, nonprofit, faith-based, academic and media leaders through open-minded discussions on complex social issues such as generating jobs, meeting the challenges created by rapid change in IT communication, health, homelessness, development and the environment. Supporting the development of the Okra Restaurant Group’s Black Bottom Southern Cafe and the Red Yam Southern Grille franchise has provided our Advisory Council with a number of exciting outings and excellent learning opportunities for cross department, cross organization sharing and leveraging of existing resources and manpower.

BLACK BOTTOM SOUTHERN CAFE restaurant is located at the gateway to the NoHo Arts District, the crossroads of Vineland Avenue, Lankershim Boulevard, and Camarillo Street / Riverside Drive.
