This workshop brought together experts in nutrition, obesity, biology, mobile health, engineering and social networks to discuss challenges and new opportunities to measure and understand food intake using new technologies. Speakers demonstrated their web site that collects data from site visitors to answer the researchers questions: “What can we learn about your diet from your ‘digital breadcrumbs’? How can cyberphysical systems be used to detect and intervene on eating in real time?” Workshop speakers included: Melanie Hingle, PHD, MPH, RD, Stephen Korbourov, PhD, MS, Kayla de la Haye, PhD, Donna Spruijt-Metz, MFA, PhD, Lorraine Turcotte, PhD FACSM, and Keri Kreutzer, ED, MPH, RD. The lively audience from both campuses made new friends, discovered interests in common and look forward to sharing and leveraging resources across our two campuses and with our colleagues in the broader community.
